Reflection

I know its been a long time since I came on Revival, and I also know last time I came, I promised I was back for good.. And I have to say i went back on my word. Anyway, having recently attended the Steps to Allah conference, organised by Islamic Network, I was able to witness some live spoken word by Muslim Belal Smile

Hence the small inspiration... (it's not anything wow, but just thought I'd share)

Keep holding on to hope that there's more inside,
Breaking out the facts, that it could all be lie
I'm surprised. How often we ignore the truth
When there it is beside
Our minds. And yet our eyes,
Seem to hide. As though, if acceptance resides
We will be trialled
For years of denial. Can't face the fact that,
That we'll end up in the fire
Begging for mercy, for eternal light.
And yet we're still searching behind
Excuses and compromise.
Hoping that we'll be pardoned upon our demise
So foolish are we, to think that this life
How quickly things die,
And yet believing whilst knowing that immortal is not our lives.
With what hope do we strive?

There aren't many members visiting here reguarly so its understandable why there is no draw to return. Nothing to feel guilty about - this is just a website.

Was the conference good/beneficial?

Masha'Allah like it!

This bit really resonated with me "As though, if acceptance resides We will be trialled For years of denial. Can't face the fact that, That we'll end up in the fire Begging for mercy, for eternal light."

I suppoose so, it's just I remember it being so alive a few years back.

Well i didn't attend the whole day, but MashaAllah for the few speeches i heard, they were good. Shaykh Abu Abdisalaam was the best though.

Having said that, i think that the first Steps to Allah conference that they held a few years back was the best throughout.

When something new starts there is often more energy and more of an opportunity to impress - afterwards even if it remains as good, its no loner surprising but expected.

Are there recordings of the speeches online?

I don't know to be honest, maybe of previous years... Although I haven't checked.
