**ACTION NEEDED** Face Coverings (Prohibition) Bill to be debated at UK Parliament TOMORROW (28/02/2014)

Urgent action needed.

If you look at the for Friday February 28 2014, the 2nd item is "Legislation
Face Coverings (Prohibition) Bill - Second reading - Mr Philip Hollobone"

This is not an official government motion and the chances are this legislation will not be successful.

However, we should not be complacent and we need to protest such attempts at abusing the civil liberties of Muslims.

Limiting Women's freedoms does not increase them.

Everyone is urged to spread the word and at a minimum sign the petition at .

This sort of bill and agenda is strongly favoured by bigots and those prejudiced against Muslims and this bill should be seen as an attempt to garner their votes. We must let those who makes laws know that there is a backlash if they try to restrict our freedoms. Currently there are just over 38,000 signatures on the petition, we need many many more.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

This e-petition has received the following response:

As this e-petition has received more than 10 000 signatures, the relevant Government department have provided the following response:

The Government does not support a ban on the wearing of the burqa or other religious head coverings. Any restrictions on what a woman can wear in public would be out of keeping with British values and our nation's longstanding record of religious tolerance and gender equality.

Britain has a proud tradition of religious tolerance. The Government is committed to creating a strong and integrated society in which hatred and prejudice are not tolerated and in which all people are free to express their identity and live without fear of harassment and crime that targets them because of that identity. A key part of our tolerance is respect for other’s beliefs and religious practices, and an understanding of how our own practices impact on others.

The Government wants to see greater integration between communities and is strongly committed to encouraging dialogue and co-operation between people of different religious backgrounds. We think this, rather than a burqa ban, is the way to make progress.

This e-petition remains open to signatures and will be considered for debate by the Backbench Business Committee should it pass the 100 000 signature threshold.

I think this not right when U.K. is a free country so everybody have a right to be in the way they want to be if a muslim women want to cover herself and want to follow their religion so please let them follow.

as they dont interfare in anyone's life then nobady have a right to interfare in their's and if you connect this thing to the security then please this not the only way to protect a country and if they are living there they have complete right to reamain their life as they want it to be yes if they do something which really affect the security of the country then please stop them otherwise its not right to interfare and put a law in their regular life
