but would Italy <3 you?

(Technically, the Vatican is separate from Italy.)

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

I am pretty sure Italy is a tolerant place for Muslims, I cant recall a Mosque been blown up there or dozens of Muslims being shot or blown to pieces there recently. So I think both Italy and the Vatican are 'Religiously Tolerant' places.

Peace

Is this an example of Islamic religious tolerance?

Yes, that exactly.

no, I think you missed the point, try again

No one on this forum has suggested that the Muslim is in a perfect state of being, so I dont get why you feel the need to act like an idiot over it.

Fact is that there are big problems in the Muslim world - and intolerance against non Muslim communities is probably not even the biggest problem - how many cases of intolerance and injustice did you have to sift through before you found one targeting christians?

Yes, there are intolerances, even against other Muslims.

At the same time, the Muslim world has not gone through the level of intolerance that the west went through before learning some civility. Nobody expects the spanish inquisition. Except we may be there again pretty soon. Europe has a pretty brutal history and so does the US when it comes to tolerance (red indians anyone?).

I could continue this rant but I must get to work.

There is a lack of tolerance between muslims today. I know everytime a church is bomb there is alot of news coverage, but there is normally 5-10 bombing at muslims religious events beforehand. Muslims are showing no tolerance for each other, well the extremist one aren't which in has a knock on effect to everyday muslims.

I guessing the pope is basically talking about allowing non muslims in muslims country to have the same right as the muslims have in non muslims countries, which I fully support. There is alot of double standards within the muslims world, where a country like Saudi Arabia is spending literally millions upon millions on spreading islam in the west, but show no tolerance to people of different religion in there country. Its a pity, it seem like once the muslims states were a fore front of religious tolerance, but now seem to be going back to the dark ages again, which is funny as the leaders seem quite distant from the islamic faith themselves.

so we cant really blame it on Islam now can we? more like rich dudes with too much power... (a bit like Kings and Queens in medieval times?)

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
