Obama's Islamophobia

US President Barack Obama has ruled out a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar, sacred to Sikhs, because Obama does not want to wear the head-covering that is required as a sign of respect in case it makes him look like a Muslim. From The New York Times:

Waaw, that is quite sad, i dont know what to make of that guy...i was in America for a holiday and it was at the time of the burning the Quran, and Obama actually spoke up about it saying it's wrong. he also spoke up about the ground zero thing - I think he is a poppet

he doesnt want to be taken as a muslim, just like i/you wouldnt want to be taken as a sikh/christian.

poor dude...i feel sorry for him...all his actions being dissected like that...

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

Yeah but really if he went to the sikh temple thing, he wouldnt be mistaken for a muslim - just because of a hat thing he decided against it.

Yeah exactly! It's quite pathetic. It would've been something done out of respect for the Sikhs anyway. And He wore a kippah, its *just* being mistaken for a Muslim that he finds inappropriate.

Thats just dumb. The opinon of the minority shouldnt scare him off from doing something like that.

There were some pictures in some AFAIK Kenyan clothing a while ago that did the rounds in America, treying to prove he was Muslim, so I can understand why he will be careful, especially so close to elections.

I don't really think that he's ashamed. He accompanied his grandmother to Arabia, for Hajj, didn't he?
