What makes them the world's best scholars? Their work from what I have read is pretty ordinary - voluminous but ordinary.

Exactly what makes them ordinary to you makes them the best to others. Personal preference.

Probably cos noone´s interested in hearing from western lackeys...

and they would much rather hear from you...

I hear that a session or something will be on the Islamic state. Maybe you should consider attending to actually learn something... or to atleast offer a critique instead of clutching which you holder higher than the qur'an and sunnah.

(It is funny how you have come full circle from when you started posting when you listed him in a list of names that you respected/learnt from etc... I guess you require the truth to be convenient.)

His paper is available and it's been refuted.

It goes against pretty much what most of the classical scholars wrote - thus lacks any references to them!

There seems to be a lot of selectivism in the evidences used and misunderstanding of the basic tenats of democracy to which an attempt is made to call Caliphate.

Quite unusual - as those who beleive in democracy reject caliphate and vice versa - he is one of the few (unique?) who tries calling democracy Caliphate!

If you don't understand the different levels of government... wasn't it you who got confused with communism and democracy?

That kind of shows how much you really know about the subject.

As for Dr Qadri, I have not read his works on any political subject (and probably not on any other either). I am just surprised that when you started posting, you mentioned his as one of the people you admire, then later on said he was nothing special and now claim him to be a western lackey unique in his absurdities...

...it all seems to me to be an attempt to gain attention. Otherwise why else would your view change so drastically over just a few weeks?

is it?

Your posts seem to confuse elections as being particular and peculiar to democracy. They are not and appear in other ideologies too, communism/socialism being examples.

Qadri has a recent problem for publishing a polemic work proving it is forbidden to kill civilians - however in his translation, he ommitted critique of western governments who have killed millions of civilians. This raises the real and serious charge of lackey - likewise many people riased similar charges with scholars like Hamza Yusuf and bin Baz in the past.

Scholars are expected to stand up for the truth - not become political pawns used to justify the oppression of the rulers and condemn those who oppose them - if someone does something wrong, it must be condemned, regardless who it is!

So your problem is that he focussed on Muslims and tried to tell Muslims to live by Islam instead of telling Non Muslims to do so? it kind of then contradicts your later statement of "if someone does something wrong, it must be condemned, regardless who it is!".

Either way, your conversion from "He is one of my heroes" to "He is alright, nothing special" to "He is a lackey" all came way after that work was published.

Me thinks you are simply after the attention.
