I just tell them it's not as hard as it looks. You don't have to starve yourself dry! thye say the same stuff when you talk about salah.

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

Dunno if this is the right place for this, but I'll just pop it here:

MuslimBro has a couple of friends who are studying in Damascus the same time as me, and he gave me their email addresses so we could get in touch once here. I haven't got round to emailing them yet, and have never met them before.

Yesterday, I was walking through a souk near my house and I heard a couple of brothers speaking English, and said 'salam' to them and asked if they were from London. They said they were, and we got chatting about exactly where we're from etc.

Out of the blue one of them asked "Hey, you're not MuslimBro's friend, are you?"

So, Subhan'Allah! The first people I met here who were from London, were the same people I was supposed to be meeting here! What is most amazing was that I wasn't planning to walk that particular way, it was because I missed my bus stop.

What's more, I bumped into a South African friend of mine, while waiting for someone in the wrong place that I was supposed to be.

Allah (swt) really is the best of planners...and I am very good at getting lost.

Don't just do something! Stand there.

simmilar thing happened to me in makkah.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...

The most amazing things happen to you when you least expect it. I always find myself grinning like an idiot lol.

Its 5am at the mosque

Azeem: sing a naat.
Haseeb: Only if you sing one first.
*Azeem sings one for about 2 minutes*
Azeem: Okay, now its your turn.
Haseeb: Err...I have to go and drop my brother off at school.
---------------------------
Azeem: So Dawud, what happened to you last night?
Me: It was weird, I went to sleep with Mohsin and woke up with Zaigum
Azeem: How could you go to sleep with Mohsin? He was sleeping with me.

Gentleness and kindness were never a part of anything except that it made it beautiful, and harshness was never a part of anything except that it made it ugly.

Through cheating, stealing, and lying, one may get required results but finally one becomes

If you can't sing, then you can rap one of Native Deen's nasheeds.

Mate, do you want to say who Mohsin and Ziagum are?

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

They're characters from Street Fighter II: Turbo.

Duh...

/cries a solitary, nostalgic tear.

Don't just do something! Stand there.

I was asking Dawud. I doubt they're Street Fighter characters.

Me and my mom are just driving along, when this conversation took place:

Mom: Cant believe how cold its gotten.
Me: Yeah, its freezing.
Mom: Mind you, it was ALOT colder back in the day. It used to snow right up to our waists. So i used to pray for Allah (swt) to make it warmer. And now it barely snows up to your ankle. Smile
Me: :doubt: sooo what you're saying is, Global Warming was caused by you praying to Allah (swt) for it to get warmer.
Mom: Yep
Me: Lol

Nope - an email I recieved.

I thought it better to disprove the thing here than in a reply to the email.

More immediate satisfaction.

Leave her alone.

No need to get holier than though.

If sex and the feelings it conjured were things reviled by humanity, let me assure you the human race would have died off yonks ago.

Each to their own.

Its not about being "holier than though" but the fact she said all hijabi's are like that. :X

If she had not been questioned, made to go on the defensive, she would not have said anything.

Seriously, read this bit again:

me:ur wearin a scarf in ur pic, n den u advertsin dat u lyk sex? wtf. either stick 2 bein a slag o either stick 2 wearn a scarf

her:oh sori did it offend ya? every gurl out there wearing a scarf is a slag anyway. every gurl hu wears it, jus have it on cuz they been told to not that they want to

From that:

1. She has been forced to wear it. She she does. But has the opinion that others are probably forced too. Other friends of hers may be?
2. A (probably) random stranger confronts her to choose either Islam or something else.

Here I will assume that she is not married and has never been - which is not clear (or even used to sin and then gave up), but a random person is pushing her away from Islam.

Humans sin. Get used to it. Yes, when she got defensive, she went too far and insulted all the other people who choose to wear their hijab and take it seriously, but at the same time she should not have been asked to choose.

She knows what Islam says. She also knows what she can and cannot accomplish. After that, leave it be. She has a right to choose whatever she wants to (without insulting others, which she did).

"to allah we belong and to him we return"

I think I may have been needlessly harsh in my opinions above. Apologies.

(I do still stand by the sentiment though)
