Doctor Who

Right, does anyone here watch Doctor Who?
Did you see that last episode? Season finale this Saturday. What did you think of this series and the last episode, with Rose, Martha, Jack, Gwen, Ianto and Sarah Jane all back in like a happy family! But we saw the return of the Daleks and Davros
What do you think's gonna happen next?

Only watched this episode and the one before. Altho i used to watch the originals... so i know what a Dalek is.

Didnt really recognise any of the other characters except for Rose and Martha.
I think they could have used that last episode to introduce a new bad guy rather than the same old same old Daleks who look like fancy Wheelie Bins.

The Doctor dies and regenerates as a woman. Thats my guess lol.

The current director uses the show as a vessel to preach homosexuality to kids (almost every. Single. Episode). However this should be his last season in charge of the show (possibly with the specials next year under his control - season 5 will be in 2010)

He is also pretty poor at storytelling. he uses type events too often which reset everything at the end of the episode, but even then a lot of the scripting is hamfisted at best.

The only ones worth watching are the ones penned by a Stephen Moffat. Except for those eps, there are probably two other decent episodes out there.

"Old Who" was before my time.

The reveal at the end of "Turn Left" (the title btw is a gay reference to coming out of the closet) was pretty good. Should have cut before the doctor spoke.

Well, Davros hasn't been around for ages. We had the Master in the last series, personally I don't think he should come back just yet.

You think the 11th Doctor is a woman? Strangely enough David Tennant once said that he thinks Anne Robinson (the Weakest Link woman, for those who don't know) is the 11th Doctor!

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

Hang on, hang on, hang on! I think you're getting confused with Doctor Who and Torchwood Series 1, which I didn't watch, someone I know was obsessed with it so that's how I found out.
By the way, how's Turn Left a reference to coming out of the closet? Or are you just choosing to see it like that?
I think the bingo board is just there to take the mick!

Chin up, mate! Life's too short.

Yes the bingo card ios made by some detractors of the director, RTD.

As for gay references, they are all there.

"Turn Left" is a phrase from the 50's. It means to come out of the closet. I am not choosing to see it like that - it is what it is. Almost every single episode has some sort of homosexual innuendo in it. Most are less than subtle. He almost shouts "THEY ARE HOMOSEXUAL - DO YOU GET IT?!!?!!", a little like 'Ed shouts in his posts. Torchwood would definitely be worse - the star is supposed to be an omnisexual alien that would do it with anything.

OK, can you be a bit more specific? Give me a few examples of how he subtely encourages homosexualit.

Why do you have the urge to Turn Left?

Because the biscuit is to the left (in the kitchen).

New Doctor actor is youngest ever

Matt Smith has been named as the actor who will take over from David Tennant in Doctor Who - making him the youngest actor to take on the role.

At 26, Smith is three years younger than Peter Davison when he signed up to play the fifth Doctor in 1981.

Smith will first appear on TV screens as the 11th Doctor in 2010.

He was cast over Christmas and will begin filming for the fifth series of Doctor Who in the summer. Tennant is filming four specials in 2009.

Smith was named as Tennant's replacement in Saturday's edition of Doctor Who Confidential on BBC One...

From another forums:

That's great, they finally get a decent head writer and then they get the elephant man who is really annoying as the next Dr

He played Jim in the ruby in the smoke!! He was good there but as Doctor who?!
Im too attached to David tennant at the mo.

I think he'll be good. He seems cool and loony at the same time. It will be sad to see David go, but i can't wait to see who'll be the next companion!

David I think is a bit better than Christopher Eccleston, just a bit though. But he has to go sooner or later, otherwise we'll hate him.
Now the NEW doctor, Matt Smith, seems pretty good. Bit of a jitter, but oh well. Just needs a haircut or a gelling up of the hair. Apart from that it's too soon to tell, let's see what he can do.

hm i dunno what to think of him! havnt seen him in anything before i dont think?

I thought it was better than most of RTD's normal written ones... but he is on average awful.

Wats so good about her?

I think he should have 2 companions. One of them should have been a "redeemed" Mercy Hartigan, at least for a little while. His first companion from outside the current timeline! I know she got killed but, it was an idea.

I think they should bring back Martha Jones

Yeah they should but not as a full time companion.
