Quotes that make me smile

“If God had created man to offer Him prayers there are many angels to do this. Man was created to become human.”

I like this quote, it makes me happy because it reminds me that we are all human after all and don’t need to be perfect. It reminds me that we can all make mistakes, and the reason is because we are human.

How would everyone else interpret this quote?
And what quotes make you happy? please explain them

Call me a one trick pony, but I like one. it's not really a quote - more of a story.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

No its a brilliant quote. Shame its hard to live by/be allowed to live by.

Hey! what are you trying to talk about here?
Your supposed to be putting up quotes that make you smile!

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." ~Albert Einstein

"At the age of 18 I knew my father was an idiot. At the age of 21 I was surprised at how much he'd learned in three years!"
-Mark Twain

Don't just do something! Stand there.

Smile awesome quote that one!

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

"I have learnt Patience from the Impatient, Kindness from the Unkind and Tolerance from the Intolerant.
Yet I find I'm ungrateful to these teachers."

"If a man flushes a toilet but no one hears it, did the toilet really flush?"

I like that because its a play on some other philosophical questions (such as the nature of sound.)

ofcourse, the man who flushed heard it.

"If a tree fall in the forest, and there's no-one around to hear it, and it crushes a mime artist to his death, does anyone care?"

Don't just do something! Stand there.

I like this quote because it pretty much describes me.
Ive always been surrounded by impatient, unkind and intolerant people (not gonna say who).
And its because of them ive learnt to be patient, kind and tolerant.

If there is something you must do and you cannot do it, you cannot do anything else. ~Mignon McLaughlin

Really? how come?

Anything you lose automatically doubles in value. ~Mignon McLaughlin

which definitely true,, this is quite a boring one though,, but i like it cos i always think i like that

>> "Sky's the limit." << taken from a random movie that I can't remember.

I like it because one can only aspire to go beyond the sky, if he/she has explored EVERYTHING what's within this limit.

and anyways.. it's a vaccum out there and I don't like the look of the space suit.

Aspire high but not TOO high... otherwise, it's hard to land, and you may not survive... in that case, what's the point of coming back?

You sound like youve thought about that quote before mmmm,,,

I always took that quote as meaning that there was no limit :s

The "sky" is "out there", something you cannot get to sort of thing.

(ona asimilar note, I read today they they miscalculated how far out "space" starts... 420km instead of 600+km...)

Maybe the calculations were not inncorrect... maybe space is shrinking?

this sounds like a scientific debate.... :S and sounds all physicsy

"OH" *sigh* "Why am I a Human?" << by me.

I need to find a purpose for myself other than helping humanity or being selfish. Hence it's a good idea to question yourself once in a while.

Ok I'm laughing!

what would you prefer to be? now i need to put a quote on here to keep it that way :

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

either he said that to sound clever or there really is a meaning behind it. So if the animal are treated with respect in a place, it means what that the people are nice?

Was the Gandhi vegetarian? (Hindus are aren't they?)

is that referring to the animal quote? wasnt that guy like really open minded?

do you two realise every time you write something you have to put a quuote or something up Biggrin
