Good goals up there.

I think I planned to have some, but I have generally stuck with the old ways of drifting from one thing to another with no real planning or thought behind it.

I have wasted far more time just sitting on the 'net than I should have...

Haven't we all?

I'm consoling my self in the fact that I shall have to go to an internet cafe to use it in Syria, so won't be going quite so often.

Don't just do something! Stand there.

" Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'aan) down in the Night of Decree (Lailatul-Qadr). And what will make you know what the Night of Decree is? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. Therein descend the angels and the Rooh (i.e. Gabriel) by Allaah's Permission with all Decrees, Peace! until the appearance of dawn." (Al-Qadr 97: 1-5)

Narated by Aisha: Allah’s Apostle said, “Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.” (Bukhari)

Narated by Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever establishes the prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards (not to show off) then all his past sins will be forgiven.” (Bukhari)

Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used to observe i’tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan. (Muslim)

A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, reported that she asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, “O Messenger of Allah! If I knew which night is Laylatul-Qadr, what should I say during it?” And he instructed her to say:
“Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee” (O Allah! You are Oft-Forgiving, and you love forgiveness. So forgive me). (Reported by Ahmad, Ibn Majah and At-Tirmithi)”

having zakaam(kashmiri word) and fasting it then on top of that playing football, not clever my throat was burning lol, but then i did get to listen to ustadh ishamael from hijaz college.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane, by those who couldn't hear the music...

Not my best Ramadan...spent one week ill in bed...10days depressed in hospital...only fasted for the last 10 days.

Missed so many fasts and Tarawih's...

I marvel at some of the kids in my school - I know a five year old who has kept all his fasts, even sits with the kids who are eating during lunchtime, does PE and even attends football club after school.

He never complains that he is tired or hungry.

I believe that the more one puts into Ramadan...the more they derive...

did anyone feel laylatul qadr last night?

i did allhamdulillah. since maghrib kicked in everything felt so calm and peaceful. taraveeh was amazing as well, different from the previous ones. we had an amazing mehfil with the ziyarah of the hair mubarak of the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) and a powerful collective dua at the end, subhanAllaah it was soo spirtual. have to say last night was the most spirtual night of ramadan for me. my heart actually felt content. can't believe this month is almost over.

I did too...I dont know if thats cos I wanted it to be the night of power though....tarawih, Dhikr etc was more powerful and spiritual last night...I hope everyone derived something out of last night and/or the remaining nights...

Is that the right use of the word 'derive'? Twice?

Don't just do something! Stand there.

Isnt it the right word, English teacher?
